How does moisture detection work?

Moisture detection works by measuring the electrical resistance of a material. When a material is wet, its electrical resistance decreases. This change in electrical resistance can be detected by a moisture meter. Moisture meters are calibrated to specific materials, so it is important to use the correct meter for the material being tested.

Infrared cameras detect heat signatures. Wet materials emit more heat than dry materials. This difference in heat signature can be detected by an infrared camera and used to identify areas of moisture.

Ultrasonic leak detectors use sound waves to detect leaks. When a leak occurs, the sound of the water flowing through the leak can be detected by the ultrasonic leak detector.
